Hi, I’m Brian Kelly. I’m Co-Founder of YogiLab and I’m a certified breathing coach. I’ve helped nearly 3,000 students heal through the power of the breath. But before I discovered breathwork, my mornings were a dark place to be. Every day, on repeat, I’d wake up with a rising sense of panic, and head straight for the emails on my phone.

After a quick shower, I was out the door, straight to work, a double shot of coffee and breakfast on the go. I was struggling badly. But the crazy part is, nobody knew it. Not my wife, my business partners, my employees… Or my mom, who I share everything with. I’d become so expert at hiding my pain and bottling it all up, I even convinced myself I was ok.

But deep down I knew something wasn’t right. One night, the stress finally caught up with me. I broke down. Just fell to my knees and cried my eyes out for what seemed like hours. After I was done, I felt like an 800-pound gorilla had jumped off my back. I realized I was in trouble. But the real breakthrough came when I was invited to try guided breathwork.

I had no idea what to expect. But after just a few minutes of the first exercise, my whole body was tingling, my mind went still, I literally felt like I was floating off the floor. It was one of the most euphoric moments of my life. That was the beginning… It taught me that it wasn’t the busyness of my life that was driving me crazy.

It was the busyness of my mind. Not only was my nervous system totally off balance, I learned that my everyday breathing was completely out of whack too. I guess that’s obvious if you’re stressed and anxious. But I had it backwards. I was actually causing my own stress and anxiety BECAUSE my breathing was all over the place.

Most people don’t know this, because, of course, we breathe all day every day — but the vast majority of us are doing it wrong!

This knowledge was a total game changer for me.

Your attention is your most valuable currency—where you place that attention creates your world When used the right way, meditation is a tool that you can use to sharpen your focus so you end up doing just that—creating your reality. I know it can seem a bit out there, a little esoteric, but trust me when I say meditation is not at all what it seems (but more on that later). As human beings, when we focus our attention on a specific outcome, we’re capable of incredible feats. Only a few hundred years ago literacy was something reserved for a small percentage of the population: the monarchy, the wealthy, and the clergy.

Now, every single person reading this can access the entirety of the collective knowledge of the ages with a small rectangle that we carry in our pockets at all times. Whatever it may be, we always find a way. And while our attention is the most valuable currency we possess, we’re constantly fighting the distraction economy: the collection of our external environment looking to take control of your attention—because of that we have so little left over to direct internally.

Wouldn’t it be useful if you knew how to harness the true power of attention so you had complete control over where it was directed? And what if I told you that practicing control over that awareness is the only tool you’d ever need to build your world? The truth is, most people do want that, but they aren’t getting the right meditation training on “how to get it.”
